We have some exciting news to share here at Aedda's Farm Distillery - we have received planning permission to begin construction on our brand new distillery and visitor centre! After years of planning and preparation, we are thrilled to be moving forward on this first phase of our journey.
One key consideration we've had to account for is the presence of bats that have been using the old calf pen as a thoroughfare, which we will be renovating into our brand new visitor centre. We take the conservation of these important creatures very seriously, and have worked closely with local wildlife authorities to ensure that their movement through the area will be protected throughout the construction process. Special provisions have been made to maintain the bats' access routes and incorporate bat-friendly design elements into the visitor centre to minimise disruption.
With this hurdle cleared, we are eager to get started on the physical build. We anticipate breaking ground in the next couple of months, and look forward to watching our vision come to life over the course of the year. This brand new distillery will allow us to begin distilling our very first spirits, and the visitor centre, housed in the renovated calf pen, will then provide an immersive experience for guests to learn about our distilling process and the local terroir that will shape the character of our products.
We can't wait to welcome you all to our new home in the coming year. Stay tuned for updates as construction progresses.
